Joanna Clare is coming to perform at Payton Violins! She plays traditional Irish fiddle and sings.
Joanna has won many awards from the Mid-Atlantic Fleadh Cheoil, and has been senior fiddle, senior fiddle slow airs, and senior ceili band champion. She also was awarded runner up for senior fiddle slow airs at the FleadhFest in Sligo in 2021. She has an album of Irish music available called To Keep The Candle Burning that was a tribute to the key players who inspired her. She is also in a band in her current city, Baltimore, that includes Laura Byrne, Billy McComiskey, and Donna Long. Joanna grew up in Rochester and Syracuse and attended the Kanack School and The Hochstein School as a kid. Joanna will be playing on a violin she bought at Sullivan Violins in 2017 before it became Payton Violins. She thanks the Rochester community for fostering her musical development.
