Join us on September 13th at Payton Violins for a captivating evening with pianist Kevin Wang, as he continues his ambitious series of performing all of Beethoven’s piano sonatas. This concert features Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 3 in C major, a piece that defies the usual simplicity of the key with bold chord changes and rich colors. In it are shocking chord changes, rich colors and a strong sense of adventure. It is also the most virtuosic of the sonatas thus far, further proving Beethoven’s desire to break the mold.
The program explores C major in all of its forms, beginning with Poulenc’s lively Bourée and moves through works by Lutosławski before reaching the colorful Peter and the Wolf Suite by Nikolayeva, and concludes with Chopin’s stirring Heroic Polonaise.
