About the Role:

Payton Violins is seeking a high-performing, highly organized, music-loving Sales Manager to become the face of our shop.

This is not a typical retail job.

You’ll be working with musicians, students, and families at meaningful moments—first instruments, major upgrades, auditions, and lifelong musical journeys. We’re looking for someone who cares deeply about music and instruments, thrives in a dynamic environment, and can confidently wear many hats while keeping everything running smoothly.

What You’ll Do:

Sales & Client Experience (Primary Focus)

  • Guide customers through instrument selection, rentals, and upgrades
  • Build long-term relationships with musicians, families, and teachers
  • Follow up thoughtfully and consistently
  • Drive revenue through trust, expertise, and care—not pressure

Shop Leadership & Operations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all in-store and incoming communication
  • Maintain a welcoming, high-end retail environment
  • Help lead the daily rhythm of the shop

Inventory & Systems

  • Manage instruments, bows, and accessories inventory
  • Maintain rental accounts and customer records
  • Support website updates and internal systems (non-technical)

Marketing & Community Growth

  • Build relationships with local teachers and school programs
  • Participate in events, outreach, and partnerships
  • Help expand Payton Violins’ presence in the community

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years in sales or customer-facing roles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational ability and attention to detail
  • Comfort with tools like Google Workspace and learning new systems
  • Interest in string instruments (experience is a plus, curiosity is essential)
