Joanne Lowe

Joanne Lowe received her B.F.A. and M.F.A. in Viola Performance/Music Education from SUNY Buffalo where she studied with Martha Katz of the Cleveland Quartet. Ms. Lowe teaches Suzuki Strings and General Music at Victor Primary School and in 2007, achieved National Board Certification in Music. A former member of the Buffalo Philharmonic and Syracuse Symphony, Joanne has also performed with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Rochester Oratorio Society, Greater Rochester Women’s Orchestra, Mercury Opera, Syracuse Camerata, Ars Nova Musicians, the Genesee String Quartet and many other free-lance positions. She joined the faculty of the Hochstein School of Music in 1989 and has received Suzuki Teacher Certification in Books 1-3. She maintains a private studio and has served for the past several years as a string judge for the Rochester Philharmonic League Young Artists Competition.
