By the mid-20th century, Martino was employed by the Boston Strings Company, where he continued to build instruments that reflected his European training and American craftsmanship.
Made during his tenure at Boston Strings, this viola showcases traditional workmanship with a full, resonant tone and a well-balanced voice across all registers. It features a handsomely flamed maple back, a finely carved spruce top, and a warm amber-brown varnish with gentle patina.
